Reverse Cell Phone Lookup

For another thing, the cell phone industry does not provide a steady stream of heavy volumes containing names and phone numbers printed in a font illegible to anyone over forty. The reason given is that providers are in competition and zealously guard their user base. The result is a modest improvement in privacy! Many sites on the invasive internet purport to provide this service, but any attempt I have made always ends with the requirement for an expensive subscription (despite liberal use of the word “free” in the early going), or the request that I register myself, including e-mail address (to be inundated with spam). Oddly, there seems to be more interest in “reverse cell phone lookup.” I don’t understand the purpose of this. How could one know the number but not the owner? It must have something to do with “caller id.” Help me out here. But still I digress.
